Good Morning Bluebird

A colorful bluebird standing on a wooden post in a field of daisies with a sunrise in the background, and the text "Good Morning Bluebird" at the top and "Jimmy Fat Fingers" at the bottom.

Lyrics

Bluebird grace me with your song

Tidings of hope and spirit you pass along

Peace, good luck and a joy filled day

Keep me straight, never let me stray

Good morning bluebird

Please don’t fly away

What news have you heard

Good fortune I pray

Promise me a cheerful word

Good morning, good morning bluebird

Your magical tune is folklore spun

You are the dawn and the rising sun

Your song tweets a spiritual feel

You idle winter and spring blooms you reveal

Good morning bluebird

Please don’t fly away

What news have you heard

Good fortune I pray

Promise me a cheerful word

Good morning, good morning bluebird

Sometimes I’m lonely, maybe feeling blue

I open my heart, and shout wahoo

The bluebird is sacred, just ask the Sioux

I follow his song, and know just what to do

Good morning bluebird

Please don’t fly away

What news have you heard

Good fortune I pray

Promise me a cheerful word

Good morning, good morning bluebird

Good morning, good morning bluebird

Good Morning Bluebird

As a songwriter, melodies sometimes linger in my mind before they find their story. “ Good Morning Bluebird “ was one of those. I had the melody floating around for years, waiting for the right moment in time. One sunny morning I saw a bluebird perched on a fence post, tweeting a beautiful melody. That simple moment brought the lyrics to life. I wrote the melody and the lyrics and used modern production tools to create enhanced vocals and instrumentation. A melody in my head married together with these lyrics created this inspirational song.
