ROCKIN’ RITA
Rockin’ Rita, she’s American made
Has a heart of gold, and never, ever afraid
Every girl, wants to be just like her
Pretty and smart, soaring free, like a seabird
Boy’s dream, she’s their destiny
Even though it won’t come true, it’s their fantasy
Hey, Rockin’ Rita, be my dream girl
Don’t want Anita or Chiquita, oh Rita
Dream of me, hear my plea, Rockin’ Rita, oh yeah
Dream of me, hear my plea, Rockin’ Rita
Rockin’ Rita, she’s the fire and the flame
She’s truly the star, like G.I. Jane, in a war game
Her laughter’s a sweet soothing sound
When she enters a room, every head, turns around
Want to meet Rita, got to search your mind
She’s in your head, beautiful, and one of a kind
Hey, Rockin’ Rita, be my dream girl
Don’t want Anita or Chiquita, oh Rita
Dream of me, hear my plea, Rockin Rita, oh yeah
Dream of me, hear my plea, Rockin’ Rita
Maybe I’m a fool, for chasing a dream
Maybe it’s cool, I think the grass is green
But if we don’t have hopes and dreams
Call it a day, and pack up your moonbeams
Hey, Rockin’ Rita, be my dream girl
Don’t want Anita or Chiquita, oh Rita
Dream of me, hear my plea, Rockin’ Rita, oh yeah
Dream of me, hear my plea, Rockin’ Rita
One more time
Dream of me, hear my plea, Rockin’ Rita
Rockin’ Rita
When I wrote “Rockin Rita”, I was thinking about that girl who stands out in every crowd—She’s the dream every girl secretly harbors and every boy longs for. Like a modern day G.I. Jane, she commands the air around her—strong, bold, and unstoppable. When she walks into a room, everything shifts, and I wanted this song to capture that electrifying presence—both the fantasy and the freedom she embodies.
